I AM totally dismayed at the total lack of consultation from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council regarding the work being carried out along Balcombe Road footpath.
I have lived in my house for over 20 years and now see the frontage to my house changing dramatically without any say in the process.
The council seem to be riding roughshod over any due process and simply changing the whole look of a road that I know many residents appreciate.
While I accept the council own these verges, I have enjoyed the benefit of them while looking after them, since I moved into the area.
Many of us residents have hedges that we have spent many years looking after, giving the road an attractive and welcoming appearance.
These are now at risk of significant alteration from contractors who are simply there to complete a job of work.
Why were we not consulted earlier? Has there been a breakdown in process? Can this work be legally completed without a formal consultation having taken place?
