Carshalton 1
Redhill Albion U9 3
Carshalton could not break their duck against Redhill Albion Under 9's, going down 3-1.
Hosts Carshalton, who were still seeking their first points during the clash, put up a fine display in the first half.
They took the lead but Redhill drew level before half-time.
Albion found the away fixture a lot tougher than expected, and it was only the determination and skill shown by the Redhill lads that maintained their winning streak.
The first half seemed a tad flat compared the usual approach by Redhill.
But the second half was a different matter, with shots being fired at the Carshalton goal from all angles.
One effort actually ran along the face of the crossbar from the most acute angle.
The Carshalton woodwork was peppered right from the off and Senior’s attempt at a mid-air scissor-kick was a delight.
The Albion goals were in the end supplied by Meldrum, Senior and Sowton, with some strong performances turned in by the defence and midfield.
Time and again, the young Redhill side started attacks in their own half, showing determination and growing confidence.
