Horley Town U18s are enjoying a fantastic season, making it through to the semi-finals of two cup competitions. The Combined Counties Youth Cup semi-final tie will see the talented Horley side play fellow Southern Youth league opponents Cobham at the New Defence on Wednesday, March 11.
Following that the Surrey County FA Floodlit Youth Cup sees Horley at home to AFC Wimbledon Youth who overcame Chertsey Town Youth in the quarter-final. The date for this tie is yet to be decided. The winners will play Woking in the final.
Manager Nigel Abbott said "The lads have performed consistently well this season and have played attractive football that many people have commented on.
"We are trying to build a side which is capable of providing our reserves and first team with local talent. This has been achieved with as many as eight youth team players regularly chosen for the senior teams.
"We are quietly confident that we have the ability to do well in every match we have now until the end of the season.”
With assistant manager Dave Roffey providing the motivational and fitness part of the set-up, Horley Town Youth are well placed to achieve a high finish in the Southern Youth league as well.
With games in hand over their rivals they are back to league action this Wednesday with an important away match at Lingfield.
