Cobra Boys 4
Redhill Albion U9 1
The four-week break between training and the last competitive game owing to arctic weather and Christmas put paid the team's momentum.
This culminated in the feisty Redhill Juniors losing their first league match of the season.
Cobra Boys kicked off the match in style and displayed greater strength and resolve than Redhill. Cobra made good use of a couple of skilful and agile players which presented Redhill with most of the problems in the first half. The half finished with Redhill trailing 3-0 There was one particular dazzling display of grit, determination and skill from Budgen. His talent and awareness is really shining through, and the team would do well to pick up on this.
The first half was clearly one sided but the second half was a more fairly contested event with a goal coming from each side. Redhill’s goal came from O’Donovan, named lad of the match.
