Children from Holmesdale Community Infant School in Reigate got to grips with the art of making pizzas on a school trip to Pizza Express.
The youngsters from Year Two visited the Reigate restaurant as part of the Pizza Express Primary Schools Programme, meeting staff, touring the kitchen, sampling the different ingredients, and kneading and tossing pizza dough.
This was then cooked with the children's choice of toppings by the restaurant's pizza chef for the pupils to take back to school, along with their junior pizzaiolo -or pizza chef - certificates.
The visit incorporated a number of National Curriculum subjects and gave the children an introduction to the workplace.
Maria Amaral, assistant restaurant manager, said, “Most children don’t get the opportunity to create their own meal using fresh ingredients in their daily lives.
“We hope that through this trip, we’ve offered pupils at Holmesdale an enjoyable and educational experience.”
