TEENAGE racing driver Max Chilton has been picked to join an elite team of Formula 1 hopefuls.
The 16-year-old, of Norwood Hill, is the youngest of 14 drivers to be selected for the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) Superstars scheme, a new initiative aimed at furthering the careers of promising British racing drivers.
The teenager was introduced to dignitaries and the media by club president Damon Hill OBE.
Max said: "It's a real honour and a fantastic opportunity. I'm sure this will help me develop and progress in motorsport. I'm looking forward to being able to benefit from their experience and advice."
The youngster, who drives for Hitech in the Formula 3 International Series, finished second in the first race of the season at Oulton Park, Cheshire, last week.
