Ian Laurence Empson Died peacefully at the age of 92, at his home in Shoreham-by-Sea, formerly living in East Preston. He had a long career in aviation, Chief Flying Instructor at Shoreham Airport, taking part in the King's Cup and giving aerobatic displays at various air shows, in planes such as Spitfires and Hurricanes. He went on to be a Training Captain with British Airways. After retiring from BA he flew for Air Malta and Air Europe. He will be greatly missed by his wife Madeleine, sons Roger and Mark, his step-children Linda, Paul and Jacquie and his 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be held at St Nicolas Church, Shoreham on 02 November 2022 at 14.15. Family flowers only please.
