Alan Ripley Alan passed away suddenly on August 23rd 2021 at RJH in Victoria. He was born May 25, 1947 in Glasgow. Predeceased by his sons Alan & Barry; he will be deeply missed by his wife Julia; his daughters Julie (Keith), Brigette (Jon) & Toni (Steve); 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his 2 brothers & 2 sisters. As a young boy he moved from Glasgow to Newhaven in the south of England where he finished his schooling & loved being involved in sports like running & boxing. It was here where he raised his 5 children & met the love of his life Julia. In 1996 they immigrated to Canada where they opened Chef on the Run in Sidney, BC. This past June they celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage together. During this time they loved to travel the world & spend time with their extensive family. Alan was always known for being sociable, extremely kind & someone who genuinely cared for those around him. A truly legendary man! A memorial service will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 10.00am followed by the burial at Royal Oak Burial Park.
