JOYCE DRAKE On 19th October 2020, aged 93. Reunited with her beloved husband Charles. Dearly loved mother and grandmother. Former teacher at Coldean School. Sadly, due to current restrictions a private funeral will be taking place. She taught me at Coldean c1980 & was one of those teachers everyone remembers – Challenged me in the right way, to be my best. Sad news & thoughts with the family. RIP Mrs Drake

I was privileged to have Mrs Drake at Coldean in 70’s . She was a firm but fair teacher who brought the best out in each child . Such fond memories of making ginger beer in the classroom and expanded not only our knowledge but also our character . Glad I had a chance to tell her on her retirement what a positive impact she had on me and we shared a happy tear . Thank you Mrs Drake
