It is with the heaviest heart EVER my family and I announce the passing of the most wonderful man: PETER HAMPTON 31/12/1937 - 12/09/2018 Amazing Husband/Soul mate to Our heartbroken Mum Sylvia Hampton. The most Loving, kind, supportive and gentle Dad to Sue Phillips, Dave Hampton and Jill Edgley-Hampton. Grandfather to 7 Grandchildren. Great Grandfather to 5 Great Grandchildren Dad grew up in Lewes road Newhaven and married our Mum Sylvia Gibbs in September 1963, they lived most of their married life in Lawes Avenue Newhaven, moving to Hailsham just 5 Years ago. Dad worked in Tuckers on Robinson Road, then in The high street Newhaven and continued Managing the hardware store when it became Fickweilers. Then around early 80dad then worked at the Builders Centre/Chandlers on the Cradle Hill industrial estate, Seaford until he retired. Known and loved by many who were fortunate enough to know him After a long battle with a terminal illness for the last year or so, Dad passed away very peacefully in his home in Hailsham, with Mum at his side, holding his hand. Just 9 days short of their 55th Wedding Anniversary Funeral; Main Chapel Eastbourne Crematorium 2.30pm TUESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dad is most very welcome; it will not be a religious service but a Celebration of the wonderful life, of this wonderful man. The family ask that you please dress however you like, just please wear something red, be it a tie, a dress, a jacket, a scarf...... We also ask please, for no Bouquets or wreaths, instead we ask; 1/ You bring along one red rose, if you wish to. 2/ If you are able to and happy to do so, please give a pint of Blood in Dads memory, as Blood transfusions kept Dad alive for the past year or so. https://my.blood.co.uk/home 3/ Or alternatively, if you wish to give a donation in Dads Memory, we choose St Wilfrid's, who have been amazingly helpful and supportive to both Dad and us as a family https://www.stwhospice.org/donate We cannot Express, what a HUGE hole this has left in our lives and our hearts. We thank everyone for their beautiful cards, flowers, gifts and kind supporting words, it has meant a lot to us all RIP until we see you again xxxx
